This morning I stare at my reflection in the mirror....caught up in a silent trance between me, myself and I.
Barely able to recognise the woman staring back at me,
This vacant smile...tells my story.
Can it be, my reflection, no longer believes in me?
I am an angel amongst the many faces...determined to live out a vision in a city that never sleeps....
Isn’t London the place to be if you dare to dream big.
But isn’t she worldly? They whisper and I pretend I can’t hear them
Isn’t she wonderful? They murmur in astonishment
Trading my soul for my dreams... In a city that never sleeps. Emerging from the east end of London Town
So I whisper my trade mark air of motivation to me, myself and I
‘Light up....Kia...light up!’
But where is Kia?
That little girl with her hair tied back in pig tails...all wide eyed and bushy tailed
Innocence is so hard to restore
When you lose it...you lose it forever...
The world suddenly becomes a lonely place. Lost in translation, East London scares and clothes me, simultaneously.
I smile... who should I be today, I wonder? Whispering my trade mark...words of inspiration
Today is your day....kid make it happen today!
During the past years I learnt some really harsh lessons, experiences that forced me to take a deep look at myself...in that dangerously contemplative way
“Thank you Father....For I have truly grown through changes"
I learnt to light up my own flames and keep them burning
the worst part about doing and wanting so much.....
Is trying not to run out of steam before you get there...
Where? I am not sure...anywhere but home, I guess...
It is so easy to dream...the hardest part is to turn that dream into reality
“So come on kid...get it together stay positive” I mutter
I smile and my fans recite their usual phrase, “Kia we love you.”
“I love you too,” I mumble
Then I open my eyes and I am in a room, staring at my reflection and I am by myself again
I sign graciously and whisper
Light up Kia...Light up
This is your story...This is you moment
Just you with a dream... in the east end of London Town.
Make it happen Kid...Make them notice you...
