The Lazy girl's guide to having the perfect ‘lazy day’

If there has ever been a day where you do not feel like doing anything and you just want to lie in your bed and totally spazz out, then rest assure you are not alone. You feel like you don’t want to pick up your phone and indulge in your usual small talks with your girlfriends on the other end of the phone telling you how awesome they are feeling and why you should feel awesome along with them (you probably would have talked to them if they were feeling the way you do). You can’t be bothered to brace Mother Nature and go outside just to bask in her glorious sunshine or May I add (since its winter and freezing cold) her cold embrace. You just don’t want to do anything that means you having to move more than a few metres...

Rest assure that if you are feeling lazy it doesn’t mean you have to be lazy on your own. In fact you can have so much more fun, inviting your laziest girlfriends over for the day, and just chill out and be totally and utterly lazy together ...in fact let’s call the day,  the lazy girl’s guide to being lazy...
You see, a lazy day does not mean you do ‘nothing’ it just means that you don’t do as much as you normally would. Reading a chapter out of your favourite juicy book is a definite tick on the number of things you can do while doing absolutely nothing.
I think a great way to celebrate being lazy with each other is to keep each other’s head screwed on and your brains in-tact. Get your girls together and review my favourite ways to be a bit lazy, very girly and smart, all at once. After all, we are known for how great we multitask...
1.    Get up and have a really good yummy breakfast. How about some eggs on toast? Crunchy cereal? Porridge and banana? Mmmmmm they all sound so good I want them all!
2.    Now go and watch your favourite programme or film
3.    I bet you are all feeling like all you want to do now is go back to bed, right? Well that is certainly not the plan for you girls!
4.    You should all be dressed in something comfortable and put on some chilled out music
5.    Now for the ultimate pamper – your favourite face mask or leave-in hair conditioner

6.    Now grab any book you like (and I mean ANY) and read together. Whether it is 5 pages of even a whole chapter or two. You can read out loud to each other and talk about how you imagine the characters to be. What do they look like? What are they wearing? What do you think their bedrooms look like? Are they similar to you? This is a really fun thing to do, and you don’t even have to move anywhere. It will totally help you to relax and unwind, especially with your favourite music on in the background. But remember, you are not meant to sing along to it because you are reading! So no jumping on the bed singing unless you have made up your own song that is about the book you have just read!
7.    Before you know it you are going to hear someone call out “dinner time!” ... now tell me, how was that for a lazy day? You had so much fun!
Now you have no excuse for not having ‘time to read’ and you can no longer say “I cannot be bothered” because you don’t need to make an appointment with your diary to read and you certainly do not need to have the energy. Now you may say “but if I don’t set time aside and I am not ever in the mood to read then why or how can I?”
Simples...
Do not do any of that, after all it is a ‘lazy day’ with a difference. So with your girls, lay on your bed, get comfy on the sofa or sit in the garden and just relax and unwind. Reading should no longer be a chore, only a pleasure, and you will soon realise how easy it is to incorporate into your day.

Represent girls at our best. How hard can it be?
